Newport Bridge ClubWe run a small and friendly club playing duplicate bridge every Tuesday and Thursday evening in "The Hub" in the centre of Newport the only exceptions being at Christmas and Easter. The room can accommodate about ten tables, but around seven would be occupied on a typical club night. We try to create a relaxed atmosphere but, at the same time, we encourage both a good standard of bridge etiquette and careful observance of the rules. We are affiliated to the EBU and are therefore involved in the Masterpoint scheme. We do compete annually for several trophies. Click on "Competitions" (to the left) for details. Visitors are very welcome. We don't operate a hosting system but will try to find a partner for you if you need one. Play starts at about 7.15 and players are asked to arrive by about 7.00 so that the Tournament Director can organise the duplicate movement. Please click on “Information” for further details, including how to find a partner.

During the pandemic our deaf and hard of hearing community have found communication even more challenging than usual. Mask wearing has made us all realise how much we rely on lip-reading and facial expressions to communicate. If we could all use some basic sign language it was make a HUGE difference to people, regardless of their level of deafness. Come along to our free drop-in sessions The Hub Newport .Fridays 1pm -2pm, for a friendly and informal introduction to BSL, with a cuppa and maybe even some cake
